Everlast sports apparel now in Spain, Portugal & Canary Islands

Men's and women's apparel and accessories seller Everlast Worldwide Inc announced that the company had entered into a licensing agreement with Misterio del Mar S.L. of Vigo, Spain for the launch of Everlast-branded sports apparel and hats for men, women and children in Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands. Set to debut Fall 2006, the new Everlast products will be sold through sporting goods retailers and department stores.
Javier Guerra, CEO of Misterio del Mar S.L., stated, "Everlast is one of the most widely recognized brand names in the world today. It is also a true American icon with a history few brands can equal. The high degree of consumer awareness enjoyed by the Everlast brand will facilitate the successful introduction of apparel products into the Iberian markets."
George Q Horowitz, chairman and CEO of Everlast Worldwide Inc, stated, "The Iberian peninsula is a great market for Everlast because of the area's keen interest in boxing. Therefore, the Everlast brand enjoys a very strong recognition factor in the region."
They will continue their licensing strategy both to extend Everlast's presence throughout the world and to enhance the scope of the company product line. They see a vast number of opportunities to enter new product categories as well as new international markets. In addition to traditional apparel products, they will seek licensing agreements that will position us for growth in new market segments.
Sporting goods and apparel maker & licensor firm Everlast Worldwide Inc also markets their products under the Everlast brand name. Since 1910, Everlast has been the top brand in the world of boxing and is among the most dominant brands in the overall sporting goods and apparel industries.
Over the past 90 years, Everlast products have become the "Choice of Champions)," having been used for training and professional fights by many of the biggest names in the sport. Everlast is the market leader in nearly all of its product categories, responsible for leading eight of the top ten boxing equipment products in sales.
