Teen retailer rue21 Inc opens new headquarters

Leading specialty teen retailer rue21 Inc is pleased to announce the signing of a new lease for its national headquarters. The relocation allows for an expansion from the current size of approximately 15,000 SF to 35,000 SF in the new building located at 800 Commonwealth Drive. Some highlights of the new building will include a full scale simulated store and customization of the space to serve current and future business needs.

The new building has undergone a significant modernization effort led by the Sampson Morris Group, who purchased the building in 2004, blending the prior and new architecture in the re-design. rue21 has expanded it's retail operations to over 220 stores in 38 states and plans to open 40 to 50 new stores per year for the foreseeable future. "It will be an exciting move for us and allow for future growth as our business continues to prosper," according to Bob Fisch, President & CEO for rue21.

Pat Sentner of NAI Pittsburgh represented Sampson Morris Group in the transaction, and Gregory Schuster of Burns & Scalo Real Estate Services represented rue21.

Pennsylvania based reu21 Inc; the company is a teenage specialty retailer that sells youth and junior-sized clothing for guys and girls through more than 180 stores in 38 US states.
