Karnataka gives go-ahead for jewellery park & garment city

'Gems and Jewellery Park' and 'Integrated Garment City' projects proposed by various trade associations, have been sanctioned by Karnataka Government, said Katta Subrahmanyam Naidu, Minister of Karnataka Small Scale Industries (SSI).
The park and other projects are to be set up on the outskirts of Bangalore.
'Gems and Jewellery Park' was proposed by Jewellery Manufacturers' Associations and the proposal of Garment City Project came from South India Garment Association.
Gems and Jewellery Park will provide entrepreneurs with production-cum-showroom-cum-export facilities.
The integrated Garment City will come up on a 200-acre plot between Mysore Road and Kanakapura Road.
As many as 300 sheds will be built for setting up garment units, the minister informed.
The park and other projects are to be set up on the outskirts of Bangalore.
