The historic Nizam Jewellery collection will be put on public display for two months at Salar Jung Museum for the second time from Sunday amidst enhanced security.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by Governor Sushil Kumar Shinde on Saturday evening. The exhibition is being presented with new insights into the history of the Nizam's jewellery.
The museum's interiors have been divided into three spaces in the Eastern Block of the museum- the lobby area, the introductory gallery with rare photograph collections from Chowmahalla Palace and main vault where the jewels have been displayed under high security, said museum director A K V S Reddy at a press conference.
One has to shell out Rs 50 to visit the exhibition, while foreign tourists need to pay Rs 500 for a glimpse of the famed jewels, worth over Rs 6,000 crores.
Tickets will be sold at post offices at Abids, Khairatabad, Humayunagar, Secunderabad and Banjara Hills where apart from ticket price service charge will also be levied at Rs 10 for domestic and Rs 50 for foreign tourists.
Tickets can be booked online and group booking facility will also be provided. The exhibition will be open from 9 am to 7 pm on all the days till the last day of the display.
Day and time printed on tickets will be strictly followed and only 100 visitors will be allowed to see the display in each slot of half-an-hour. The tourist will be explained about the history of Hyderabad and the Nizam family for another half-an-hour time.
