There are a wide variety of home decorator fabrics to opt but while selecting for home, decorator fabrics should be preferred to garment fabrics.

Decorator fabrics generally offer longer wear because of higher thread counts and tighter weaves.

Brocade is a fabric with a raised design, often floral designs, having a lavish appearance, woven into the background, traditionally decorated and are made from silk, wool, cotton or blends.

Damask is a woven fabric, similar but smoother than brocade having a matte pattern against a shiny background and is made in silk, linen, rayon, or a combination of fibers.

Moire is a silk or rayon fabric with a wavy pattern resembling a water mark, formal-looking that works well for window treatments such as swags and long curtains.

Toile can be cotton or linen fabric printed with landscape scenes or even scenes of historic events. Some prefer the entire room to be decorated in toile prints, while others like to use toile fabrics as accents.

Twill weave, denim is a familiar fabric, soft and durable and are used often for slipcovers and upholstery. The specific way the yarns are woven in creating twill fabric gives it a diagonal or herringbone (zig zag) pattern.

Voile is woven from cotton having a texture ranging from coarse to fine. It is crisp and lightweight and is used for draperies when a light and pure quality is preferred.
