In order to revitalize the mills of National Textile Corporation (NTC), the Government has sent a proposal to modernize 22 NTC mills at a cost of Rs530 crore; 15 mills would start production in the next couple of years, according to Union Minister for Textile Shankersinh Vaghela.
Vaghela said the Textile Ministry would approach the Planning Commission shortly, to get approval for setting up 50 integrated textile parks in the country. The Government would try to place these parks all over the country including places like Silvassa and in states of Bihar and Orissa. Once the Planning Commission approves, the Textile Ministry would seek Cabinet approval as well.
