S Suhi Industrial Park Knit Composite Unit, planned as a 100-per cent export-oriented composite knit industry, was launched on Saturday at Zamgora under Savar Upazila. Speaking at the function special guest Tipu Munshi, President of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) praised the performance of the apparel industry, despite fear expressed from certain quarters about it due to quota-free policy and phase out of Multi-Fibre Arrangement (MFA).
He appealed entrepreneurs to assist in developing economy and help generate employment by setting up more apparel industries.
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) lawmaker Dewan Md Salauddin as the chief guest and S Suhi Industrial Park Limited Chairman and Managing Director Md Sirajul Islam, Panel President of BGMEA, SM Fazlul Hoque its former President Quazi Moniruzzaman, Engel Textile Limited Managing Director Wolfram Engel and Radiance Group Director Bakhtiar Ahmed among others, addressed the function.
