Fashion fever in the world does not succumb to any season as the rapidly changing fashion trends are quietly accepted by global and local retailers.
This is the reason why international fashion retailers like Zara, H&M and Esprit are unveiling their fresh collections as many as 12-24 times a year.
As a result, local garment manufacturers are improving quality in their value chain operations to become more competitive.
Manufacturers are executing orders immediately; earlier they used to deal with orders in 90 days, now that span is shortened to 60 days. At the same time, many companies with bulk orders are also outsourcing to smaller firms to meet deadlines.
Indian garment exporters, who are catering to European and US fashion and accessories brands on a customized or specific order basis, are trimming lead time and becoming more efficient and competitive.
Companies also plan working jointly on designs. This reduces the delivery period on product development by at least 2-3 months.
