Freewill Sports to foray into jogging shoes market

Freewill Sports Private Ltd, manufacturer of Nivia brand footballs, volleyballs and basketballs is going ahead with plans to enter jogging shoes market.

The company presently supplies shoe soles to multinational shoe brands.

It has the capacity to manufacture 30,000 pairs of jogging shoes a month.

Rajesh Kharbanda, Managing Director, Freewill Sports Private Limited said, the company would focus on quality. The design and development cell of the company has already launched 20 designs with plans to float 15 to 20 additional designs in the market.

The company plans to use its 1,200 strong sports dealer network to make inroads in the market, he added.

It plans to achieve a growth of 50 per cent in jogging shoe market by end of next fiscal, focusing on domestic market at present.

The company is a market leader in football, volleyball, handball and football shoes, as also in athletic spikes and is among the top three in basketball, cricket and tennis balls sections.

The Nivia brand has been approved by Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) and has been the official ball of a vast number of federations and events, including the National Football League, the National Games, SAF Games, International Jawaharlal Nehru Tournament, Junior Commonwealth Handball Championships and more.

Apart from being the most popular sports brands in India, Nivia also distributes its products to many countries.

The company hopes to achieve 40 per cent growth in football sales due to the forthcoming Football World Cup, this year.
