Coolmax is designed to keep moisture away from the skin making the denim 30 per cent more breathable than traditional denim. It also holds thermo-regulating properties, keeping the wearer warmer when it is cold out and cooler when it is warm out. Lycra gives it 4X the stretch, the company said on its Kickstarter page.
A gusset panel is added to the denim for stretch, free movement and durability. Along with deep pockets for both men’s and women’s jeans, the company has added a secure flap to the inside of the back pocket to help keep valuables safe.
The other features of the jeans include Silverplus finish making it water-resistant, anti-odour and anti-bacterial, reinforced belt loops, sustainable backpatch, Coats Epic EcoVerde threading and eco-friendly metalware.
The performance denim was 100 per cent funded in under 10 hours, Osian Gwynedd, owner of Antur Supply Co, said in a post on Kickstarter. It currently has 799 backers who have collectively pledged $86,086.
