In March 2023, the largest decrease in retail sales at constant prices compared with the corresponding period of 2022 was maintained in units trading in solid, liquid, and gaseous fuels—by 20.7 per cent against an increase of 15.5 per cent the year before. Among the presented groups, a 1.7 per cent increase in sales was reported only by products classified in the textiles, clothing, footwear group, Statistics Poland said in a news release.
In March compared with February 2023, a growth of 14.7 per cent in online retail sales at current prices was recorded. The share of online retail sales in ‘total’ sales decreased from 8.7 per cent in February to 8.6 per cent in March 2023.
An increase in online sales was noted for items from the textiles, clothing, footwear group from 22.1 per cent to 23.0 per cent. After eliminating seasonal factors, retail sales at constant prices in March 2023 were 1.3 per cent lower compared with February 2023.
