Henan Province consumer goods retail sales up

Henan Provincial Bureau of Statistics presented retail sales results for first Eleven months of 2005.
According to statistics from Henan Provincial Bureau of Statistics, in the first 11 months of 2005, total retail sales of consumer goods in the Province amounted to RMB292.84 billion, up by 14.4 percent on a year-on-year basis, 2.2 percent higher than the annual average and maintaining a steady momentum of growth, accomplishing 93.9 percent of the annual target.
Sales of various categories of products showed increase by different margin, growth in retail sales in cities was higher than that in counties and rural areas.
By sales region, retail sales in cities reached RMB157.94 billion and in counties RMB56.87 billion, up by 17.2 percent and 11.9 percent respectively.
Retail sales and wholesales in trade kept a fast growth and reached RMB241.94 billion, up by 10.7 percent, and in catering maintained a favorable trend of increase, amounting to RMB43.69 billion, up by 15.7 percent.
