Lifestyle sales up at Pantaloon for Q1

Pantloon Retail India Limited announced gross sales worth Rs. 4.1 billion for three months ended September 30, 2005.
For the first time in October, retail sales crossed Rs. 2 billion mark against Rs. 810 billion recorded last year, registering a 149 percent year-on-year growth.
Sales in the Value Retailing segment were Rs1.39 billion as against Rs530 milion during October 2004, representing a year on year growth of 162 percent.
In the Lifestyle segment, the company's sales stood at Rs630mn compared to Rs280mn in the year-ago period, reflecting a growth of 124 percent.
Same store growth in Value Retailing for October stood at 52 percent, while the same for Lifestyle Retailing reached 46 percent.
The sales figures for October 2005 and October 2004 include Shop in Shop (SIS) sale of Rs101.7 million and Rs70.4 million, respectively.
