Kibo, a leader in cloud commerce, has announced that Rue21, a leading, fast fashion specialty retailer, has selected several of Kibo’s solutions to create multiple fulfilment options for its customers moving into 2019. The solutions include buy-online, pickup in-store (BOPIS) as well as Kibo Order Management (OM) solution, and in-store associate training.

Through this selection, Rue21 will be implementing Kibo’s enterprise-grade OM solution with inventory tracking capabilities, allowing the retailer to seamlessly integrate with its existing inventory system solution and ERP system. Additionally, with Kibo’s cloud-based OM, Rue21 will also look to provide online shoppers with broader delivery options such as BOPIS, helping drive traffic into local stores. With increased in-store traffic, rue21 will be able to drive motivated shoppers into its local retail stores, further incentivizing them to make additional purchases. Rue21 plans to implement Kibo’s solutions in early 2019, according to a press release by the company.

According to Kibo’s 2018 consumer trends report which surveyed over 3,000 US consumers, 67 per cent of participants surveyed have used BOPIS in the last six months. What’s more, shoppers surveyed widely recognised that BOPIS offers not only free order fulfilment, but also a degree of flexibility and control not available via home delivery. After analysing its shoppers’ demand for flexible fulfilment options, Rue21 made the business decision to work with Kibo to explore an omni-inventory environment and to enhance its customer experience offering.

Rue21 selected Kibo as its technology partner after vetting several competing solutions. From day one, Rue21 was assigned a dedicated Kibo project manager and a customer success advisor to collaborate on planning and deploying Kibo’s solutions, building out the necessary integrations, and providing best practices for workflows, process adoption, and employee training throughout the entire partnership.

“We selected Kibo because of the company’s strength in offering an out-of-the-box solution which minimises implementation time, as well as the company’s collaborative approach for implementation and help in designing highly-effective process flows. With Kibo, we look forward to offering our shoppers a true omni-inventory experience and improving their shopping journey at Rue21,” Steve Lyman, senior vice president of supply chain at Rue21.

Once implemented, Rue21 will be able to level the playing field by matching the ecommerce order management capabilities of retail giants, with the scalability, ease, and flexibility of Kibo’s SaaS solution. For example, with advanced order routing rules, Kibo order management makes it easy to fulfil orders from the location that best suits the retailer’s business needs and delivers the optimal customer experience.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Rue21 and provide them with a robust solution that further enhances the customer experience offering. By expanding its fulfilment options, Rue21 will continue to earn loyalty and recurring sales during peak shopping periods where speed and convenience are king,” Michelle Fischer, chief customer officer for Kibo said.
