Milliken & Co unveiled its newest fabric innovation at Clean Show 2007. Milliken Damask HD is a jacquard fabric that combines a soft, natural feel with the performance and durability customers expect from Milliken table linens. Damask HD's new high luster designs create a bolder, more distinct pattern effect with higher contrast.
“Milliken Damask HD weaves possess excellent pattern distinction to evoke elegance and enhance the overall dining atmosphere,” said Rick Jarrard, general manager of Milliken's Napery Business.
“Damask HD offers the same elegant qualities of Milliken's current spun/filament fabric with new, clarified patterns. The durable, pill-resisting quality of Milliken Damask has not changed.”
Milliken's Damask products also retain their pattern definition and color after numerous launderings. Lab tests show that the color of Damask HD lasts longer than cotton and polyester/cotton blends.
Finer yarns and innovative fabric construction are part of the changes that were made to create the new look of Damask HD. Milliken currently offers Damask HD linens in five distinct patterns: Symphony, Over All Rose, Fleur-de-lis, Deco and Satin Band.
Custom patterns are also available upon request. The Damask HD pattern offering is currently available in a wide variety of standard colors including Ivory, White, Black, Maroon and Gold. Additional colors like Celery, Ultramarine, Chocolate, Paprika, Saffron and Stone will also be available.
Damask HD linens also reduce stain rejects with the same success as other Milliken Signature Plus fabrics. “Our technicians continue to develop products that save our customers time and processing cost, while conserving our energy resources and protecting the environment,” said Jarrard.
