Avery Dennison Corporation announced that Timothy S. Clyde has been named group vice president, Specialty Materials and Converting (SMC), effective July 16, 2007.
As group vice president of Specialty Materials and Converting, Clyde will have responsibility for Avery Dennison's Graphics and Reflective Products Division, Specialty Tape Division, Performance Polymers Division, Specialty Converting Division and Performance Films Division. In addition to his new role, Clyde will continue to be responsible for Corporate Global Operations and Supply Chain.
"Tim's proven leadership, strong operational management skills and strategic marketing experience make him exceptionally qualified to lead SMC toward global leadership in producing specialty materials and converted products for the industrial, consumer and medical industries," said Dean A. Scarborough, president and chief executive officer.
"The diverse businesses in SMC offer solid potential for long-term, profitable growth. Tim and his leadership team will provide strategic guidance to these businesses to promote growth and enhanced profitability through a strong customer-focused orientation."
Clyde joined Avery Dennison in 1989, serving in increasingly responsible positions in product management and marketing, including marketing director roles for both Office Labels and Binders.
He was promoted to general manager, Binders, in 1997, and was appointed in 1998 as general manager, Organization, Filing and Presentation Products.
Clyde was promoted to vice president and general manager, Organization, Filing and Presentation Products in 1999, and to vice president and general manager, Office Products North America, in 2000.
He was appointed group vice president of Office Products in February 2001. Clyde received his undergraduate degree from Claremont McKenna College and his MBA from UCLA.
