Lawson Software announced that Helly Hansen, a leading international company in the sports fashion and apparel industry, signed a contract to implement Lawson QuickStep Fashion, a preconfigured industry solution designed around the specific needs of fashion and apparel manufacturers.
The project will support 250 users across Helly Hansen's worldwide operations. The contract was signed during Lawson's first quarter of fiscal 2008, which ended Aug. 31, 2007.
"We decided to evaluate the enterprise software market in search of a new supplier to replace our legacy system, which we plan to stop using by 2009," said Espen Krogstad, CEO for Helly Hansen.
"Lawson came out as the right software partner for Helly Hansen because of its industry-specific functionality, which will support our business. In addition to Lawson's impressive list of more than 300 fashion references demonstrating its international experience and competence, the Lawson system will also help minimize the risk of operational downtime which is business critical in our industry."
"Because of our strong focus and expertise in our key target vertical industries such as fashion, we can provide support for Helly Hansen's specific manufacturing and distribution processes and needs," said Einar Broch, country manager for Lawson in Norway.
"We find that our industry-specific knowledge and the depth of functionality of our solutions are of utmost importance for customers when they select an enterprise software vendor."
