Contract prices for MEG in Asia settled at $800 per tonne

monoethylene glycol (meg) contract prices in asia for june 2005 have been settled at $800 per tonne, compared to $1060 per tonne for may 2005. this is a result of record chinese imports of 392,000 tonnes in mar 2005 and surplus spot meg that is being sold at a reduced rate.
in europe meg contract prices for june 2005 could be nearly eur 715-720 per tonne, eur 222-227 per tonne less than for may 2005. supplies from eastern europe are also pressuring european prices.
