Atlantic Care Chemicals, a Dubai-headquartered company that produces and distributes cleaning chemicals, will set up a Rs 1.5-crore manufacturing unit in Kochi.
The Kochi facility, which is said to be functional in a month's time, will have the capacity to produce 10 metric tons of chemicals in a day.
Atlantic Care's entry into the Indian market is through the company's joint venture with Gulf India Trade, a subsidiary of Emirate National Chemicals.
Atlantic has also tied up with Fabric Research Institute to set up a Fabric Care Research Laboratory in Bangalore in which the company will invest Rs 1 crore.
The company has pegged its Indian operations turnover at Rs 6 crore by December 2007 and Rs 50 crore by the end of 2010. It is also considering setting up two more manufacturing plants, one each in Canada and Malaysia.
