During the first six months of 2007, China's dyestuff and organic pigments industry maintained a stable growth even under the pressure of lowered export tax rebate, raw material price increase, 'three wastes' control drive, RMB appreciation and difficulties faced in production and marketing.
In the first half of this year, the country achieved dye output of 3,78,000 tons, up 10.9 percent over the same period previous year. Organic pigments realized an output of 96,000 tons, an increase of 12.6 percent. National total dye imports and exports marked 1,73,200 tons, a boost of 11.74 percent. Total trade of organic pigments registered 96,800 tons, a jump of 13.9 percent.
According to National Bureau of Statistics and China Dyestuff Industry Association, national dye production touched 3,78,000 tons, soaring 10.9 percent. However, growth rate slowed down. Organic pigment production completed 96,000 tons, a rise of 12.6 percent during this period.
Dye and organic pigment production scale maintained upward trend but growth rate decreased. Dyestuff production fell one percent year-on-year and organic pigments dropped by two percent, compared to last year.
