The organisers of leading trade show, Lingerie Connect, have announced that the new online platform that connects the lingerie, swim, and loungewear community is proving to be a real success. Since the health situation did not permit the organisers to hold a physical event, they are organising a digital event from January 23 to February 21, 2021.

The ongoing digital event Lingerie Connect has brought over 105 brands and 1,200 buyers together.

“In this time of health crisis, the economic impact on the apparel industry in general has been unprecedented,” organisers stated in a press release. “We have seen a net decrease of: England 26 per cent, Germany 30 per cent, Spain 40 per cent, United States 26 per cent, France 17 per cent with 15 per cent loss for the lingerie sector specifically, whereas RTW has experienced 21.3 per cent decline, and Italy 25 per cent.”

However, purchasing criteria is evolving in a positive direction, and sustainability, origin, and transparency are becoming top purchasing priorities. 60 per cent of consumers are paying attention to these factors when they shop, the release mentioned.

“Online is seeing year-on-year growth of 19.9 per cent, whereas offline has experienced a decrease of 26.1 per cent, with department stores having suffered, and continuing to suffer, the worst impacts during this crisis,” the release said. “This is why Lingerie Connect is positioning itself as the worldwide partner platform for the lingerie, swim, and loungewear industry, to move business forward and find new pathways to collaborative success.”

Lingerie Connect generates qualified prospects and concrete leads. A multifaceted offer is represented, attracting a diversified group of participants (retailers, department stores, distance retail, agents, and more) and, consequently, an online audience that brands can share their innovations with, and trend and design agencies, their trend forecasts, and the media, their research.
