The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation's 5th 'In The Pink' fashion fundraiser, held at SkyCity Auckland's new convention centre on 11th June, was the most successful yet.
It was a sell-out event, with 600 tickets sold, and people still ringing on the day hoping to get it!
It featured ten of New Zealand's top fashion designers, including Liz Mitchell, Helen Talbot, Adrienne Winkelmann, Kate Sylvester, Zambesi, World, Annah Stretton, Helen Cherry and Jane Rhodes, Saks, as well as guest entertainers The Topp Twins and jazz singer Sarah Bradley.
MC for the evening was Charlotte Dawson, and auctioneer Ross Foreman ( helped along by the Topp Twins “Camp Mother” and “Camp Leader” ) conducted a lively and successful auction with luxury items donated from the likes of Christian Dior, International Art Centre, Giltrap Prestige, Michael Hill Jeweller, Caci, SkyCity, Cartier for Flowers, Naked Art, Estee Lauder and Business World Travel.
$70,000 was raised for The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation, and funds from In The Pink will go towards the Foundation's numerous education, awareness and research initiatives. These include a new scholarship programme to address the nationwide shortage of radiation technicians and radiographers, and progressing a national breast cancer patient register.
