Nokia to strengthen position in lifestyle category – 'Cape Town Fashion Week'

Worldwide leader in mobile communications, Nokia, has today announced plans to strengthen its position in the lifestyle category by aligning itself with Africa's foremost fashion event, namely, Cape Town Fashion Week.

Taking place from 10 th to 13 th August at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, this fashion extraordinaire is this year aptly themed " African Renaissance " and promises to capture the hearts and minds of fashionistas globally.

Africa is a dynamic and fast-growing continent and fashion and technology are leading this development. The synergy that already exists between these two arenas makes Nokia a fitting match with one of the key events on the fashion calendar.

Mika Niemi, Nokia South Africa's senior marketing manager explains: "Culturally, Africa is currently inspiring style and fashion internationally and marketing initiatives such as Nokia Cape Town Fashion Week 2005, have been implemented to showcase Africa's natural talent, passion and energy for fashion."

This year's talented line-up of designers includes Christiaan Gabrielle du Toit, Jenny le Roux for Habits, Klûk, Hip Hop, Maya Prass, Craig Native, Stoned Cherrie, YDE, Sun Goddess, Gideon, Fred Eboka, Jenni Button and Hilton Weiner to name a few.
