ICAC's 64th Plenary Meeting in Liverpool in September, 2005

The subjects of Commercial Standardization of Instrument Testing of Cotton and the Need for Standardized Trading Rules will be among the highlights of the agenda of the 64th ICAC Plenary Meeting in Liverpool during September 25-29, 2005.

The theme of the 64th Plenary Meeting is Industry Standardization: the Key to Trade Growth. This theme is congruent with the historic role of Liverpool as a center for cotton trading, and the theme emphasizes the underlying purpose of the ICAC to enhance opportunities for expanded trade in cotton as a component of a healthy cotton economy.

The major topics for discussion and decision on the agenda of the meeting include:

The International Cotton Advisory Committee is an an association of 41 governments of countries with an interest in cotton. The Secretariat of the Committee publishes information related to world cotton production, supply, demand and prices, and provides technical information on cotton production technology.
