A one-day Stakeholders' consultation Workshop on India-EU Trade Partnership Negotiations: Identifying Products of Concerns to India at the Auditorium, Textiles Committee, Mumbai, on 27th August 2007, was organized under GOI-UNCTAD-DFID project 'Strategies and Preparedness for Trade and Globalisation in India' by Ministry of Commerce & Industry, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), India & Textiles Committee.
The programme was organized with the active participation of the stakeholders from Agricultural Products, Textiles & Clothing, Fish, Chemicals & Allied Products, Raw Hides & Skins, Paper & Paper board, Footwear, Ceramic Products, Electrical Machineries and parts thereof, Plastics, Chemicals and Edible oils.
The workshop was attended by the representatives of the said sectors from the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Goa and union territories of Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. The main objective of this consultation is to get industry feedback on identifying products of concern to India, which should not to be subject to the applicable tariff reduction formula and identifying products and markets in which India may have an export interest in the forth-coming India-EU trade negotiations.
