The Inkpresso system is developed with Ink-Situ, a Swiss technology provider, bringing together production flexibility, a large spectrum of colours with no shelf-life issues, and the possibility of an individual colouristic fingerprint, which were until now unattainable in ink-jet printing. The system is being displayed in hall 8, booth F 101.
Speaking about the pioneering system, Rainer Roesch, head of global business development, Archroma Textiles Specialties said, “A major component of ready-mixed inks is water. This, however, leads to higher transport costs, increasing environmental impact and reduced shelf life. The Inkpresso system enables mixing of the required ink on site and on demand.”
The new system consists of eight colour modules, which are made available in the Inkpresso Ink Formulation Unit (IFU), the central component of the system. The colours are mixed based on the specific requirements of a manufacturer and can be stored for many weeks in a storage unit.
The system sends inks, based on the size and complexity of a textile printing company, directly from the Inkpresso IFU to the printer using a piping system, or inks can be supplied to several printers simultaneously through a special distribution unit.
Archroma is present at ITMA 2015 displaying different solutions combining performance, cost optimisation, and responsible textile production. The company is also hosting “innovation sessions” at its stand for visitors to have an in-depth look at what some of these innovations mean to the textile industry. (HO)
