Cambodia imported fabric worth $4.407 billion in 2022, with China supplying $3.493 billion, or 79.26 per cent. China's fabric exports to Cambodia were valued at $4.632 billion in 2017, rising to $5.495 billion in 2018, but falling to $4.610 billion in 2019 and $2.299 billion in 2020. However, China regained market share with exports valued at $3.2986 billion in 2021 and $3.493 billion in 2022, according to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro.
Cambodia's yarn imports totalled $346.120 million in 2022, with China supplying $297.528 million (85.96 per cent). The country's fibre imports were minimal due to its focus on garment production, with imports totalling $5.865 million in 2022. Of this, China supplied $4.896 million, or 83.48 per cent, as per TexPro.
The data highlights China's dominance in supplying raw materials to Cambodia's garment industry.
