Last year, the value of China's textile and apparel exports stood at $283.850 billion, according to the provisional statistics released by the General Administration of Customs.
Segment-wise, textile exports fell by 2.3 per cent to $109.520 billion, while garment exports dropped 6.4 per cent to $174.330 billion, the data showed.
For five consecutive years up to 2014, Chinese textile and apparel exports have grown each year compared to the previous year.
In December 2015, textile and clothing exports increased by 5 per cent year-on-year to $26.950 billion, of which textile exports were up 0.6 per cent to $9.810 billion and apparel up 7.7 per cent to $17.140 billion. (RKS)
