Australian producer of cotton seeds, Cotton Seed Distributors (CSD) hosted representatives from ten Aussie Cotton Grower Associations (CGA), for a two day visit and interactive forum at their head office in New South Wales. The visit provided an opportunity for growers to examine firsthand the technologies, infrastructure and processes to produce cotton seeds.

The visit included interactive briefings on the history and future of CSD, domestic operations, the licensing of germplasm and technology, as well as updates on research underway on the CSD farms.

The visit also included a site tour of the seed storage and processing plant, as well as the CSD farms, to demonstrate firsthand some of the research currently being undertaken on seed variety and crop management techniques.

Each CGA is a voluntary organisation which represents the interest of cotton growers within a particular region. Acting as a conduit between the cotton industry and local growers, the purpose of a CGA is to provide a grassroots opportunity for members to comment on, and develop policy for a wide range of industry issues relevant to their region.
