Da Lat begins construction of $50mn wool yarn factory

Da Lat Worsted Spinning Limited Company has begun construction of a factory to spin yarn from wool in Phat Chi industrial cluster in Da Lat city, the capital of Lam Dong province in southern Vietnam’s Central Highlands region. The factory to be built at a cost of $50 million is expected to commence operation in April 2019 and employ 400 people.

The spinning mill would be a joint venture between Germany’s Südwolle Group and HCM City-based Lien Phuong Textile and Garment Corporation, according to Vietnamese media reports.

The plant would come up on 61,000 sq m of area. It would import raw wool for making yarn.

Da Lat Worsted Spinning is expected to produce about 4,000 tonnes of wool yarn and earn more than $100 million in revenue per year. (RKS)
