Dr. Tran from TU Dresden awarded prize at Dornbirn MFC

At the Dorbirn MFC event held in Austria, Dr. Nguyen Hoalan Tran from TU Dresden Leibnitz-Institute was awarded the Paul Schlack/Wilhelm Albrecht Prize 2016. Dr Tran received the prize for his work and paper on 'Melt spinning and characterisation of biodegradable micro and nanofibrillar from poly (latic acid) and (vinyl alcohol) blends.'

The Congress saw lectures from more than 100 hundred top-class experts from academic, research and industry.

The share of industry lectures was nearly 50 per cent, particularly high when compared with earlier editions. These industry lectures were delivered by representatives of Murata, Rieter, Saurer, Dornier, Groz- Beckert, etc.

In addition, the Congress also hosted two panels, among which one was the 'CEO Panel' moderated by Giuseppe Gherzi from Gherzi Consulting on 'Asia's domination in Global Man Made Fiber Production - How are the remaining European companies positioned?.'

Another panel discussion moderated by Prof. Susanne Müller from Hochschule Niederrhein was on 'Future Requirements on the Innovation Pipeline – what opportunities can be provided by new communication technologies like Social Media?.' (AR)
