EU's annual inflation slips to 4.9% in September 2023

  • In September 2023, the euro area experienced a decline in its annual inflation rate to 4.3 per cent, compared to 9.9 per cent a year earlier.
  • The EU's annual inflation also dropped to 4.9 per cent from 5.9 per cent in August and 10.9 per cent from the previous year.
  • Inflation fell in 21 member states, stayed the same in one, and increased in five.
