Faisalabad, a manufacturing hub of global textile brands, offers 55 per cent of raw materials to Pakistan’s textile industry while maintaining a 45 per cent share in the country’s textile exports, according to Syed Zia Alumdar Hussain, president of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI). He told this to a visiting six-member Italian delegation.

Many local units use Italian textile machinery, Pakistani media reports quoted Hussain as saying.

He said an FCCI delegation is scheduled to visit Barcelona to participate in an international exhibition and another delegation has also been proposed for Italy to have meetings with Italian buyers. (DS)
