Filo d'Oro, the enterprise network and Made in Italy micro- silk supply chain, has been selected by Première Vision (PV) to exhibit within Smart Creation area, the key research and sourcing space for new generation of sustainable solutions. It carefully checks each stage of silk production ensuring quality and proper timing to answer market's needs at best.

The integration of companies along the value chain allows them to dispose their know-how and the 'savoir faire' to create a product of absolute excellence, making innovation a common factor for all network participants and their customers, as well as the available research in the various stages of the supply chain, according to a press release by PV. The name Filo d'Oro is inspired by the silk cocoons that, when kissed by the sun, turn into 'nuggets of light'. Its network is formed by AM Taborelli Srl, Clerici Tessuto & C SpA, Comofil Srl, Tintoria Filati Portichetto Srl, Ambrogio Pessina Srl, GT 2000 Srl, Iride Srl, Ongetta Srl, Saraink srl, Tessilbiella Srl, Tintoria Iltep Srl, TOT Srl.

Clerici Tessuto is one of the most important textiles manufacturers in the world for the luxury sector, with ranges for men's and women's clothing, accessories and home furnishing. Within Filo D'oro, on the occasion of the inclusion in the Smart Creation, they will present innovations that reflect 'a real commitment to cultural sustainability as well as industrial and production'. The organic silks are made with natural fibres from organic farming. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification guarantees both the quality of the raw materials and the sustainability of all production processes. The FSC certified viscose comes from forests with sustainable management that respects the environment and the population, other viscose developments are made with Ecovero yarn from certified and controlled sources. The polyesters are GRS certified, they are made with Newlife, a yarn born from the transformation through mechanical process of post-consumer plastic bottles collected in northern Italy, whose production process is entirely 100 per cent Made in Italy. Some proposals combine Newlife with Ecoantex, a yarn resulting from the transformation of post industrial waste and the selective collection of PET packaging.

AM Taborelli Srl, founded in 1895, is a real leader in the production of jacquard and plain fabrics, both greige and yarn - dyed, due to over 400 new generation looms, as well has a background in the selection of sustainable and certified raw materials. Among the new proposals barrè and popeline fabrics with GOTS certification from 2008, cotton is dyed by Ambrogio Pessina Srl.  The fabrics in FSC certified viscose will also make their first appearance at Première Vision.

Tessilbiella, founded in 1958, creates plain, pattern and jacquard fabrics addressed to the fashion market. Among the latest collections will be fabrics produced with certified and sustainable yarns - with a fully traceable process - noble fibres, stretch blends and high-tech yarns.

The group comprising of - Tintoria Filati, Comofil Srl, Tintoria Filati Portichetto Srl, Ambrogio Pessina Srl, operates in the field of finishing and more precisely of the processing of yarns, ranging from natural fibres to artificial and synthetic ones. Another distinctive feature is the ability to manage the production chain internally by covering all the phases of both pre- and post-dyeing, such as preparation, spooling, re-kneading and quality control of production. The offer of yarns varies from Newlife to Bemberg through hemp. A wide range of yarns is supplied via stock service in collaboration with the sister company Tot Srl. The company group guarantees products and processes that are GOTS, GRS and Standard 100 by Oeko-tex certified.

Iride Srl, a dyeing and finishing house born in 1971, has continued to improve its specialisation in the dyeing of fabrics made with mixed fibres (silk, linen, cotton, viscose etc) and in the finishing's R&D to give the fabric unique hands and looks. Iride obtained the GOTS certification in 2011, while also developing a study on dyes with natural dyestuff. The company will present, within Smart Creation, pure wool items for accessories, cotton, linen and wool / silk blends; in which the whole dyeing and finishing procedure is GOTS certified and is also developed starting from natural dyes such as Lacca, Reseda, Campeggio, Chlorophyll, Gardenia, Brazil Red Wood and Cocciniglia.

Ongetta Srl is specialised in the silk throwsting and produces GOTS certified organic silk that is branded Ongetta Bio Silk. It was the first spinning and twisting mill of GOTS certified silk yarns in Europe. Product traceability is completely guaranteed: all the way from the silkworm eggs to the wire. The cultivation of silkworms promotes biodiversity and the biological cycle, therefore the correct selection of the silkworm breed based on various climate changes is fundamental. It is known that the mulberry plants, necessary for feeding the silkworms, produce oxygen and eliminate carbon dioxide, making the environment more breathable.

"We are proud to be selected by Première Vision within the international companies that represent the state of art of sustainability for the fashion industry. A unique recognition that rewards our commitment to a responsible business built on networking," said Filo d'Oro entrepreneurs. (PC)
