Calico, developers of the first AI-powered smart supply chain management platform based in Canada, has raised $2 million in seed funding led by Serena Ventures following 300 per cent growth since January 2022. Forto, German provider of digitised freight forwarding, has raised $250 million in a pre-emptive Series D investment round led by Disruptive.

Silq, an American company simplifying supply chain process of branded apparel, has raised $17.6 million in Series A Funding co-led by F-Prime Capital and Flexport Ventures.

Through their end-to-end operating system, Calico provides brands a single source of truth for their product development, merchandising and purchasing functions. Coupled with Calico’s platform is a sought after and extensively vetted manufacturing network that enables brands to stand up new product lines instantly. Brands using Calico have successfully reduced expensive production errors, accelerated time to market by 25 per cent, and partnered with some of the world’s most coveted manufacturers, the company said in a press release.

Forto has a worldwide presence with offices across Germany and Asia (including Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen, Singapore and Hong Kong). In 2021, the company expanded its European presence with offices in Copenhagen and Aarhus in Denmark, Madrid in Spain, Rotterdam in the Netherlands. It also opened an office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. In 2022, Forto plans to further expand its footprint to customers in Poland, Belgium, Sweden and southern Europe.

As for Silq, its purpose-built platform provides apparel, footwear, home goods and accessory brands with transparency into real-time production progress. With zero implementation required, Silq has digitised the manufacturing supply chain, improving product quality and accelerating speed-to-market. Silq customers experience a carefully choreographed production calendar, designed, and maintained by the company ensuring quality, compliance, and on-time performance.
