A rating system for industrial parks would raise the competitiveness of industries and promote manufacturing, Indian commerce and industry minister Suresh Prabhu said recently. Such a system is being developed based on four parameters—internal and external infrastructure, connectivity, environment and safety management, and business support services, he said.

Under the system, the ministry would assess 200 such parks, a news agency reported.
According to Department of industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) secretary Ramesh Abhishek, the system could become a reference database for prospective investors. (DS)
