Sale of khadi and village industries products in India increased to ₹59,098 crore in 2017-18 over ₹52,138 crore in 2016-17, according to data shared by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) minister Giriraj Singh in a written reply to parliament upper house. Production of these products rose to ₹48,013 crore in 2017-18 from ₹42,631 crore in the previous fiscal.

In a separate reply, Singh said 15.19 lakh MSMEs have been registered on Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum Portal in 2017-18 and 4.90 lakh in 2018-19. (DS)
