The seasonally adjusted terms reflect a 0.4 per cent increase in exports and a 14.6 per cent decrease in imports compared with the previous month.
Over the last three months, seasonally adjusted data, compared with the previous three months, indicate a 3.7 per cent decrease in outgoing flows and a 5.9 per cent decrease in incoming flows.
Most significantly, June 2023's trade balance with non-EU27 countries registered a surplus of €9,445 million, a stark contrast to the deficit of €3,009 million in June 2022. Excluding energy factors, the surplus equals €13,602 million, a substantial rise compared to the €6,294 million surplus recorded in June 2022, according to ISTAT.
These initial findings are part of a comprehensive survey on Italy's total foreign trade for June 2023.
