In a press release, the company said, through this acquisition, it aims to increase its share in the huge market in the Washington D.C. area and reinforce its direct sales base to expand sales of MFPs.
It also aims to leverage the resources of KMBUS to better serve the promising markets of digital printing systems and IT services in North America.
Meridian is a leading distributor of MFPs in the region, including Washington D.C and enjoys a strong presence in both public-sector and private-sector markets.
“Since 2010, Meridian has been offering Managed IT (MIT) services to seek synergies with its MFP business,” Konica Minolta added in the press release.
Meridian Imaging Solutions was established in 1985 and has 115 employees and sales of approximately ¥4.8 billion.
Konica decided to acquire Meridian with a view to deepening relationships with its customers and accelerate efforts to reinforce its business base towards the last year of its medium-term business plan - Transform 2016.
With its brand proposition 'Giving Shape to Ideas', Konica Minolta stated that it will continue creating new values through offering of customer-centric services that combines IT and document management. (AR)
