Lotte Chemical mulling expanding Yeosu cracking capacity

South Korean petrochemical producer Lotte Chemical Corp is planning to increase production capacity at its Yeosu naphtha cracking facility, which currently has a capacity of one million tons per annum. A spokesperson of Lotte informed about the intent to raise capacity, but did not reveal as to by how much, the capacity would be increased.
A media agency quoted a statement from the ministry of trade, industry and energy as saying that Lotte was mulling to begin construction of the expansion in the first six months of 2017, which too did not reveal details of the expansion capacity. (AR)
