Munich Fabric Start to show trends of 2020 Spring.Summer

Munich Fabric Start, the international textile and fashion industry, is set to kicks off the 2020 Spring.Summer season in Munich, Germany, from January 29-31, 2019. More than 1,000 fabrics, additionals, denim, sportswear suppliers will exhibit their latest products and trend developments in 1,800 collections at the MOC Munich and in the Zenith Area.

The ReSOURCE segment is Munich Fabric Start’s enhanced sourcing platform flagging up new dimensions of sustainability for an innovative and future-oriented production. This is how a forum initiated and supported by experts was established that offers comprehensive sustainability solutions. Boasting over 500 articles, ReSOURCE showcases the latest developments in sustainable fabrics and findings as well as innovations in the categories namely recycled, organic / natural, regenerated cellulosics, innovative (hybrids & bioplastics), leather & alternatives, denim, and GOTS.

Unadulterated creativity can be seen at the atmospherically designed Design Studios on the first floor of hall 3. In this spacious atelier setting, renowned European design studios and trend offices will exhibit their latest prints, patterns, and designs for Spring.Summer 2020, according to a press release on the show.

With its Sourcing area in atrium 3 of hall 3, Munich Fabric Start caters to the increasing demand for operational closed production cycles. The spectrum of services offered here by the internationally established manufacturing companies includes not only Cut-Make-Trim (CMT) solutions and high-end solutions, but also comprehensive services like A-Z process solutions including sourcing processes.

The synergy of fashion and technology, KeyHouse, has developed from the dynamism of companies cooperating on these future themes, start-ups, experimental research projects of leading colleges and universities as well as projects for unconventional resourcing into a think tank for progressive fashion technology. Its current focal themes include the extended area for installations related to Sustainable Innovations.

The development of new technologies, the efforts made for developing sustainable products and assuring transparent processes and supply chains are recognised by Munich Fabric Start with the HighTex Award. Awarded for the fifth time now, this innovation prize will again be presented as part of the trade fair at the Keyhouse and the award winner will be on display during the trade fair.

Juan Carlos Gordillo designed the Rehab collection around Tencel and Tencel x Refibra branded lyocell fabrics from Tejidos Royo. The fabrics were dyed using Recycrom technology from Officina+39 and the resultant garments finished by Tonello. The aim of Planet REhab collection is to illustrate that fashion can be both responsible and beautiful given the right supply chain partnerships, which can be seen at Keyhouse H5 / 33.

Bluezone kicks off 2019 with B.L.U.E.C.H.A.I.N 4.0, giving a clear signal for more transparency, resource-saving process solutions, and conscious consumption. With its Ready Made Solutions (RMS), the Bluezone caters to an increasingly important demand for manufacturing and sourcing. Relevant lines will be exhibited by SC Ready Garment Technology, Lotus Garments, Denim Authority, and Pagada.

Other highlights include the ‘Futuristic Customization Gallery’, a joint project by denim specialists MYR from Italy and Fimatex, as well as the presentation of the Capsule Collection developed by PG Denim in cooperation with Jonathan Christopher, the denim award winner 2018. Artist Anna Weber, @artworks.and.denim, will present her very personal ‘Denim Art Exhibition’.

Seminars, workshops, and talks on the latest developments in the denim industry, about consumer needs, blockchain, sustainability, and techno denim all feature on the agenda of the Denim Dock in hall 7.

The idea and concept of New Heritage, the Festival for All Things Timeless, will be introduced by the masterminds of the event at the New Heritage living room staged at the reception lodge of the Bluezone outdoor premises. Furthermore, denim experts and influencers will inform visitors about perspectives and their interpretations of current denim innovations. (GK)
