Historical 'Silk Route' fair begins

The exposition 'Silk Route' that is organized by the Government of China mutually with the Ministry of Heritage and Culture opened in Oman, by Foreign Ministry Under-Secretary Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi.
The inauguration was attended by Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Harthy, Cultural Affairs Under-Secretary, the Chinese Ambassador and other notables.
On display were tableaux sketching the sea route taken by, Arab, Muslim and Omani merchants on the silk trail from the past.
The event will last through till January 3, 2006.
