Surat-based Garden Silk Mills Ltd., India's premier fabric engineer, design maker and a leading polyester yarn manufacturer, has reported a decline in its net profit in second quarter (Q2) of the current financial year.
In the quarter ended September 30, 2011, the company's net profit has decreased to Rs. 95.1 million compared to a net profit of Rs. 252.6 million registered during the corresponding quarter of 2010-11, that is, a decline of 62.35 percent year-on-year.
During the July-September period, the net sales of the company stood at Rs. 10.725 billion, as against the net sales of Rs. 8.871 billion during the same period last fiscal.
Garden Silk Mills plays a leading role in the field of fashion fabrics and sells its products under a single banner 'Garden'.
