Currently, sales volumes of Japanese high-end fabrics are showing a speedy growth in the Chinese market.
Since the appreciation of the Yen, Japanese fabrics priced at more than 2,000 Yen per metre have received a surge in demand in China, which is expected to continue in spring and summer, next year too.
Fabric suppliers like Crystal Cloth Company in order to cater to the rising demand are introducing newer varieties of high-end fabrics and thereby expand sales. Fabrics from Crystal priced over 2,500 Yen per metre are becoming a rage among Chinese consumers.
One of the recent fabric introductions from another Japanese fabric producer includes, fine yarn hemp fabrics priced at over 2000 Yen per metre and shawls costing over 3,000 Yen for Chinese market.
The reasons are not far to seek. Chinese spending power is increasing, thereby providing the thrust to luxury goods like high-end fabrics. The appreciation of the Yen has also played a major role in rising demand for the luxury fabrics.
