The production of industrial sewing machines in Japan rose by 6.8 percent year-on-year in September 2011 to 17,710, according to the Japan Sewing Machinery Manufacturers Association.
Value-wise the production rose by 6.5 percent year-on-year to 2.978 billion yen during the same month.
During January-September period, the output of industrial sewing machines surged by 11.5 percent year-on-year to 143,270.
But, value-wise there was an increase of mere 2.8 percent year-on-year during the nine-month period.
