The propylene plant of Japan-based Tosoh will go off-stream for a month in March 2012.
“The propylene plant located Yokkaichi will undertake a maintenance turnaround in early March 2012 and will be shut for a period of one month”, a Tosoh official told fibre2fashion.
The date for the shutdown of the cracker which has a capacity of 270,000 tons per year has still not been finalised.
Price Updates: In S E Asian countries, Propylene prices increased to US$ 1255/ton. In Korea and Japan, propylene prices were quoted in the range of US$ 1145/ton to US$ 1155/ton. In Chinese domestic market, propylene price stayed unchanged in the range of RMB 8600/ton to RMB 9050/ton.
In N W European domestic market, price was stable in the range of € 830/ton to € 835/ton. In U.S.A market, selling offers for propylene stood in the range of 38.95 cents/pound to 39.55 cents/pound.
