Prices of pure polyester yarn and rayon yarn continued to move higher in Shengze and Jiaxing markets of China during last week.
Although all cotton markets fell slightly, sales volume of all-cotton yarn 32s and J40s increased, while that of all other products remained relatively stable. Among blended items viscose yarn, and cotton and polyester yarn rose, but trade volume was subdued.
Market price of pure polyester yarn continued to rise. Pure polyester yarn 32s was offered at 16,100 Yuan/ton, while 45s was offered at 16,800 Yuan/ton. Sales of these two yarns were better than other specifications.
The price of viscose staple fibre continued to rise during the week and the market price rose from 16,200 Yuan/ton at the beginning of the week to about 16,500 Yuan/ton at the close of the week.
The price of polyester staple fibre remained stable at 12,000 Yuan/ton.
The price of rayon yarn products also continued with their upward trend and the traded volume of rayon yarn 30s saw an increase.
In the short term, rayon yarn market is expected to maintain an upward movement.
