The sixth edition of the Bangalore Fashion Week (BFW) will begin on February 2, 2012 in the south Indian city that has gained international recognition as an information technology (IT) hub.
The theme for BFW this year is 'Summer Showers 2012', chosen to replace the Spring with Monsoon as Indian climate is dominated by monsoon.
BFW aims to present Indian fashion industry to the international audience and to create business relationships by facilitating a dialogue between designers and buyers.
BFW will include fashion shows and designer product exhibits. Famous Indian fashion designers, including Ritu Beri, Rocky S, Prabhat Kumar, Narendra Kumar, Ramesh Dembla, Archana Kochhar and Swapnil Shinde, are all set to participate and showcase their latest designs at the four-day event.
Along side BFW, the second edition of Bangalore International Fashion Week will also be held, which is expected to bring top international fashion designers to Bangalore. International designers like Bozena Carter, Daniel Hechter and Tanzania's Mustafa Hassan Ali are scheduled to present their creations during the event.
