Nolcha Fashion Week 'Pops Up' in time for spring

There will soon be a hot new South Florida shopping spot 'springing up' on Clematis Street, but high-fashion fanatics should act fast because this temporary shop will not be open long.
The Downtown West Palm Beach Pop-Up Boutique returns from Thursday, March 8 through Sunday, April 8, featuring emerging global designers from Farasha Boutique and Nolcha Fashion Week New York 2012.
Originally “popped” in July 2011, the shop will be back at 218 Clematis St. in time for Spring with a transformed space filled with stylish women's apparel and accessories from independent designers all over the world. Pieces include structured, tribal-chic dresses; eco-friendly shoes and handbags; sexy jumpsuits; rainforest-inspired jewelry; and even convertible clothing that can be worn 15 different ways.
“The pop-up shop was such a hit with locals and visitors last summer that we couldn't wait to bring it back even earlier this year,” said Teneka James, associate director of the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority. “It's a perfect match for Downtown West Palm Beach since Nolcha Fashion Week and Farasha Boutique are not only bringing in some of the hottest styles from around the world, but also working with top, new retailers in our own backyard like Union of Angels.”
Featured designers include brands such as Amabile from Canada, Castro-Rojas from Puerto Rico, Estela Balan from Mexico, Glocal Connection from Guatemala, Krysia Renau from Poland, Maleku Jewelry from Costa Rica, Modahnik from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Jess Rizzuti from New York, Lara Miller from Chicago, Collarbone from Utah and Union Angels from right here in Downtown West Palm Beach.
The grand opening held on Thursday, March 8 at 6 p.m. and all shoppers that evening receive a gift with purchase.
The boutique will also host events and promotions tied to local happenings such as the Palm Beach International Boat Show and Earth Month. Regular hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
