Chinese imports shot up in February after witnessing a decline in January.
China imported 616,000 tons of cotton in February 2012, up 289,600 tons, or 88.7 percent from the previous month.
The February cotton import figure was also up a stupendous 234.4 percent from a year earlier, revealed Chinese customs statistics.
China has totally imported 2.6161 million tons of cotton in 2011/12, an increase of 1.15 million tons, or 79.15 percent year on year.
